We had a great experience at Penz Automotive Group (Subaru) in Rochester, MN. Our sales person was Elliot and he was AMAZING! No high pressure sales…just a genuine interest in what we wanted/needed and a desire to ensure he got us into the right vehicle. It’s now been about a month since our purchase (a 2026 Subaru Forester - Wilderness Edition) so we’ve completed the sale, completed financing, and had our first experience with the parts department (for some add-ons), and Service Center (for installation). It’s the little things that make a big difference and Penz Automotive Group (Subaru) in Rochester leaves no stone unturned. From door attendants who greet you and open the door for you every time you visit, to service center employees who make themselves available to you during their lunch — this place is top notch! If the rest of our ownership experience continues this way, I can confidently say that our first Subaru purchase won’t be our last! Thank you for making car buying less stressful, virtually hassle-free, and (dare I say) somewhat enjoyable! Keep up the outstanding work!!

Collins was the service writer I worked with, and I am deeply impressed. Subaru begins with a series of questions, pinpointing your tastes, values, and desires. You are guided, not led, through this process. My answers mattered. When other dealerships made me feel poor, unimportant, and like they were doing ME a huge favor, Collins and the team at Rochester Subaru made me feel important, and they assured me that they will help me find a way to meet my needs and desires. They made this not only easy, but enjoyable. They have a great product and an even better team. And fun sidebar: a customer came in to leave them a tub of homemade cookies while I was there. They have, clearly, made an impression on more than just me. Even if you are Subaru-skeptical, I think you should at least shop here once the next time you are looking for a car, just so you know how a customer can and should be treated.

Car shopping can be stressful. But Subaru of Rochester made it a remarkably pleasant experience. The staff we dealt with included Jacob Hansen, Jeremiah Steege, Collins Kiyaga, and Amy Anderson. They were all friendly and professional. Jacob and Collins in Sales patiently explained the features of the 2026 Forester we were interested in. Amy discussed the assistance offered to learn about all the technology that comes with vehicles these days. Finally, Jeremiah went through all of the optional protection packages and processed our paperwork efficiently. Unlike many dealers, Jacob at Subaru of Rochester immediately provided us with the out-the-door price via email before we drove the two hours to Rochester. Also, there were no forced dealer add-ons, which still happens at other dealers. Getting the OTD price and no forced add-ons were HUGE to us! If you're looking for a vehicle, we highly recommend Subaru of Rochester. They earned our business with the perfect balance of promoting their products, but with a low-pressure approach. Great job to all!

I don't normally have my 2019 Subaru Forester serviced by Rochester Subaru. But this was something that was covered by an Extended Warranty. I am very pleased with the service I received. I was treated like a human being as opposed to a number and "one more job we have to get done today." John in the service department was especially helpful - getting me a loaner car since the job was going to take all day. They recommended two other service items but I was not prepared to do them so I said no thanks. That was the end of it, no pressure, no BS about the car blowing up the minute I drove it off the lot if they didn't fix those other items. They said the work would be covered by the extended warranty and it was. There was no "surprise" you do have to pay postage on the parts or something equally ridiculous. I would highly recommend Rochester Subaru service.

Everybody was very congenial and helpful. You do need more than one person who does the final sales pitch, signing papers, and accepting payment. Granted, we had a longer wait than what is usual, but you should have someone else who can also do this part. We had to wait over two and a half hours to do the final step before we were completely finished and could leave.

Got to work with Elliot last week. He was helpful without being pushy and was able to get me a fair value on my trade in and got me into a nice 2024 Crosstrek. The whole process was pretty easy and Elliot was responsive to questions. If I had to complain about anything, I guess an owners manual and a full tank of gas when I picked it up would have been nice, but those are pretty minor things in my opinion. I wouldn't hesitate to do more business here in the future. *Edit* The owners manual actually shipped to my house a few days after I took the car, so that's pretty cool. Thanks again!

I used to go to Dahl Subaru in La,Crosse because it is close, but after a few bad experiences I go to Penz. They take care of everything like its supposed to be. It is worth the extra hour of travel for me to go to Roch. And be taken care of like a proper subaru owner. Thanks Penz team.

I had an excellent experience leasing my 2025 Subaru Forester Hybrid from Subaru of Rochester! The entire process was incredibly easy and smooth from start to finish, and I never felt pressured at any point. What really stood out was how stress-free everything was compared to a recent, frustrating experience I had not long ago at Burnsville Walser Honda. The difference was night and day, Subaru of Rochester respected my time, communicated clearly, and made the process genuinely enjoyable. They even delivered my vehicle to me over an hour away! The paperwork barely took any time, maybe 5-10 minutes to sign, making it quick and painless. I even was got to talk some D&D with the gentleman who delivered it. If you want a dealership that's straightforward, low pressure and easy to work with, I can't recommend Subaru of Rochester enough. Everyone I worked with was great! (Jake, Brandon, and I'm horrible with names so forgot the delivery drivers names, but am going to try to find them and will update if i can.) Thanks so much! Outstanding service. Tech was communitive and fixed my issue with ease. Want to update this. 12/29/2025 Had another issue. Had to go to dealership because it was an ignition issue. After an initial quote of 876, the most awesome tech Ricky called and said he had fixed the problem and saved me 700 bucks. Good lookin out Ricky and the Subaru of Rochester team.

Drove nearly 5 hours to purchase a vehicle at Subaru of Rochester, and I would make the drive again in a heartbeat. From the get-go, Mike in the Sales department ensured a seamless experience, and was very knowledgeable and friendly. He made sure the vehicle was exactly what I wanted, and even went the extra mile to install the vehicle's winter floor mats before I drove it off the lot. I never felt pressured, which took a lot of stress out of the car buying experience.

I recently purchased a used 2005 Toyota RAV4 from this dealership. They had just recently gotten it in and it was in the shop for pre-sale repairs when I came to look at it, but I was told it was in drivable condition. I test drove it and liked it, but the TPMS, VSC and check engine lights were on, and the electronic locks didn't work. There was a misunderstanding or miscommunication somewhere along the way that resulted in me thinking these were supposed to be fixed before sale and that they would cover the repairs of these issues even if I bought the car before they were done. I was apparently incorrect. They only intended to fix issues that created a safety risk for the driver, and none of these issues fit that criteria in their view. However, they still understood my situation and agreed to cover the repairs in question. I've had bad experiences with dealers in the past, so I never imagined I would find one capable of 5-star service, but Subaru of Rochester has done it.

there a lot of reasons why i love subaru PENZ Rochester MN, first they help abandoned animals find their new homes, second they have top notch good customer service especially to the manager Jake who helped me a lot with the process and also her assistant Emma who helped me choose crosstrek and lastly the overall comfort of the car itself not to mention the technology, interiors with the big screen and safety wise its superb more than what i need at a very reasonable price.

We were attending Mayo Clinic appointments in Rochester MN. My 2022 Subaru Accent had issues and needed a coil replaced. Lauren in the service department was AMAZING!! She knew we had an upcoming appointment so she was in constant communication with the mechanic. As soon as she realized we would have trouble making the appointment time, she loaned us a car. They ended up keeping the car overnight waiting on parts, but she and the wonderful mechanic made sure they got us on our way first thing the next morning so we could begin our drive back to Rapid City South Dakota. Wonderful business and caring team members. I would recommend them to anyone.

Our 2018 Subaru Outback Radio touch screen started to separate in between the layers, so that the radio would not work and start to scan at random. The people at Rochester Subaru diagnosed the problem quickly, made arrangements to get a replacement radio and exceeded our expectations. If you want good, quality service where they really hear what you are saying, then thus is the place to come.

My partner just bought a Forester that had a few minor things it needed, so I brought it to the service dept here. Car had a rattle in the interior that was driving her nuts and we wanted a CVT drain and fill. Lauren was my service advisor and did a great job with keeping me informed with what was going on. Perfect amount of communication. Not too much not too little and answered my questions quickly. Sorry I accidently tried to steal the loaner keys that was my bad lol. Zach was the tech and props to him for finding the rattle. A lot of times these things are impossible to track down. It was such a light rattle I wasn't sure if they would be able to get it, but Zack came through. Mack (the car owner) is so relived it's gone you made her month. Like really, you have no idea how happy this woman is now that it's gone. Love the service videos they made with the inspection and showing where the rattle was. Made us feel like we got a good value for the money. I would have never gotten that dash back together without snapping trim piece clips. I also would have never guessed the dash was taken apart without he video, as it was put back together perfectly. They gave me a loaner with like 16 miles on it. I was a little nervous to drive a car that new lol, but I settled in nicely. Made for a very comfortable drive home. Glad I didn't peg a deer with it. If we ever need a bigger vehicle I will defiantly be looking at Accents and that incredible moon roof. I'm long winded sorry, but to warp this up, we feel a lot better about the new (to us) vehicle in the garage thanks to the work by Lauren and Zack. If either of you are reading this, thank you for taking care of us. We may not have bought here, but it's nice to know we'll be taken care of by professionals like y'all in the future. It was a wonderful experience. Had shopped the. Internet for vehicles and pricing. Needed to physically see the different models and trim packages. We live in Red Wing and Rochester was closer. The plan was to visit different dealerships and shop. The staff and salespeople at Penz were very friendly. Not pushy. Very accommodating as we looked and test drove 4-6 vehicles. Our salesman ,Gbaorik,was very helpful. If he didn't have the answers,he sought it out quickly. He made it our experience and did a great job. The financing is a whole nother part to the buy. But, Ally,was very professional, not pushy and ww talked through what we wanted for plans and she had good feedback without making us feel uncomfortable if I said "No thanks."i It takes time to buy that car you want,but we finalized and walked out feeling good about the whole experience. It's been awhile since we did a vehicle purchase,especially new. But,they were excellent.

I feel the sales and financing team at Subaru of Rochester took care of me very well. They kept me informed of the stock, and found me a 2026 Outback Limited (CPO with only 2,500 mi) I live 1 1/2 hours away, so they had it delivered to my house, and picked up my car for trade in. I've never had that option before. The convenience was great, but the down side was no one was there to explain the forms I had to fill out at the time of delivery, and so I had to do some calling. The biggest thing I didn't like was before I came to the dealership I asked them if I was to buy a car there, could I take it to any other dealership for warrenty service. They confirmed absolutely! When it came down to it, when I got on location, they clarified, I could go anywhere, but I would have to pay $100 deductible to go elsewhere for servicing.. I felt that was a "bait & switch", In the end, I used that as leverage on my deal and got that waived for the future. Hopefully there will be no "catches" to that when the event when it arrives.

The staff is top notch and professional, Olivia got me into a fantastic 2021 outback that we were talking about over the weekend- said I couldn’t make it until Monday morning and was told it be cleaned and gased up for me to take for a test drive and sure enough Monday morning it was ready for me. Every time I get service done at this location the bar is set a little higher. Zoey is amazing and helped us navigate what was most important for regular service on our high mileage car. With money being tight these days, it is a relief to come to a business that isn’t trying to squeeze more money out of you. They work more as a trusted partner. We live 9 hours away and alway make sure we get our service done here when we are in town.

I found the car I wanted on Cargurus and it was located at Subaru of Rochester in MN. I did everything by text. They worked with me over a couple of days to get the deal I wanted done. The salesman, Gaborik, was helpful in sending a video of the car and pointing out a bonus that hadn't been noted. I had wanted the car delivered to me, but was told they could only deliver 45 miles from the dealership. I luckily have an amazing friend that drove me the 3 + hours it took to get there. Walk through of the tech and car was pretty thorough and, all in all, was a good experience.

Choosing a car and filling out all the paperwork is a lengthy process and Subaru of Rochester did their best to provide water, snacks, a place for our child to play, and anything to make the process go as efficiently as possible. Collins was particularly excellent, he is very professional while being very pleasant as well. I would say affable. This was our third time purchasing a vehicle here, and all three times went rather well, and importantly when things didn't go perfectly, they did well to recover, and being good at that is an important skill they put to great use. Great all around experience, would buy again.

I JUST PURCHASED MY THIRD SUBARU FROM PENZ ROCHESTER SUBARU. WE HAD A 2025 OUTBACK AND WE STOPPED IN FOR OUR FREE OIL CHANGE, WHILE WE WERE THEIR WE LOOKED AT THE NEW 2026 VERSION. WE LOVED THE NEW STYLE SO MUCH WE ENDED UP TRADING OURS IN WITH A LOWER INTEREST RATE AND THE PAYMENT ACTUALLY WENT DOWN SOME. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! THE NEW OUTBACK IS AN AMAZING CAR AND WE LOVE IT!! IT'S LIKE A TOTALLY DIFFERENT LUXURY CAR! IF YOU LIKE SUBARU'S I WOULD RECOMMEND STOPPING IN AND CHECKING ONE OUT! THEY TREATED ME SO WELL AND NO PRESSURE. MY WIFE AND I FIGHT OVER WHO GETS TO DRIVE. I LET HER WIN BECAUSE I LIKE WATCHING HER SMILE!! :)

My friend was shopping for a car and I helped her with that. We visited several dealerships in Rochester and we ran into different situations, from inflated prices to lack of transparency in the process. We came to Subaru of Rochester and not only did we like the car that my friend ended up buying but the whole process was clear and transparent and we never felt pushed into anything. Brenen, the salesperson and the whole buying experience were great!
